I had a vision a few years back to get high-quality, locally raised livestock directly to South Dakota tables.
When an opportunity arose at the Chester locker, my wife, Rhonda and I jumped at it, turning it into a fully state-inspected facility, allowing us to buy direct from the producer.
My brother Clark along with his wife, Jess, and family, began handling the day-to-day business at the locker and we have since partnered.
Together we take pride in doing things the right way at our locally owned, family business! That means making sure every cut is handled correctly, from the aging process to it leaving our door.
We treat every customer like family. Why? Because we are family and would expect nothing less! I still actively farm and ranch and know both sides. Getting good meat isn’t difficult when it’s done with a simple, honest and affordable approach.

From Farm to Table! Nothing compares to the flavor of a top-grade animal locally sourced and prepared by the person looking back at you from across the counter. Period! Plus your dollar stays right here in the community. Our beef comes from our own home-raised cattle from our family farm north of Howard, along with several other local producers. In addition to beef, we have found the best producers of hogs, lambs and goats as well. Every 605 team member takes pride in that they can bring something like this to our region.
We understand the importance of community involvement and are proud to give back to it where possible because, without you, there is no us! We are excited to say we have helped anywhere from Tigers Step-Up-2 cancer fundraiser and Guardians of the Children poker run, to feeding athletic teams of both communities we live in and many more, Clark in Chester and Cody still in Howard. It’s always a fun rivalry but glad to be a part of both communities!
